I wish they were more styled after the cartoon but it looks pretty sick!
It needs to not happen in NY though... nor earth for that matter considering the cartoon was not on Earth.

Supposedly this thing has been in the works since 2004, before Bay's TF movies. It's obviously set in NY, but a post apocalyptic version of NY. Now they're saying 2012-2013 for a release date. But here's a 3rd image...

Voltron has been on the table for a while.
After the success of TF, the first film, Voltron was green-lit for a Feature Film even though it had been in the works before hand.
It was originally going to be penned by Justin Marks.
Since 2007 it has had release dates of 2009, 2010 and most recently 2011.
Now they are stating 2013 is the tentative release date.. come on already get your shit together! In 4 years Transformers will have released 3 films.. and in those same 4 years Voltron has continuously pushed back their release dates and changed companies.. get on it now! I love Voltron and I want to see this film already god dammit!
