They just got green lit. Film starts in 10 weeks, and Ryan Reynolds will be GL.

I will be the first one in line to see this movie. IF anyone gets in my way they will be dead. So swear I!

OMG!...giggle giggle...this is the first i've heard of this...now this 9and not Joe 2) is something to be excited about...especially with RR as GL!...flip'n sweet!...

I am pretty pumped about this. Done right, GL can be really be something. Done wrong, it can be a smoking turd.

Well they need to get someone uber sexy to be Star Sapphire.

Carol Ferris has been cast. She'll be played by Blake Lively, from the show Gossip Girl.

I don't know how I feel about this. Ferris eventually becomes Star Saphfire, but I don't know if they are going with that or not.

i'm glad they cast a girl from gossip girl cause now my wife will want to see it...she loves that stupid a$$ show...

Peter Sarsgaard is in talks to play villain Dr. Hector Hammond.

Interestng, as he's a pretty good actor.

I wonder if we'll get a look at Sinestro in this movie, perhaps as a mentor to Hal Jordon only for him to turn in a sequel?

Talking to MTV Splash Page earlier today, Green Lantern director Martin Campbell has debunked early rumors that Jackie Earle Haley was first in line to play Hal Jordan's greatest enemy Sinestro. Instead, Mark Strong, recently seen as Lord Blackwood in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes and soon to be seen in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming Kick-Ass, is in talks for the part.

"He's not only a wonderful actor, but he looks like Sinestro. If you look up old pictures of Sinestro, he's very like him," he told them. "The Jackie Earle Haley thing, somebody told me about it this morning; I had never heard it before in my life."

They also asked him about some of the other characters who might appear in the movie to which Campbell replied: "Well, Kilowog will be. Tomar-Re is in it. Sinestro is in it. Abin Sur is in it. All the origin people. Carol [Ferris], of course, who will be played by Blake Lively. All the main characters are there, and it's a complex story. The origin story of Green Lantern is complex, probably one of the most complex, which makes it a challenge to get it right."

It sounds like they JUST MIGHT get this right. Here's hoping anyway. I'm a huge GL fan and if they screw it up I'm gonna freak.

As long as they do Green Lantern as Hal Jordan. I got nothing against the other guys but Hal is THE Green Lantern.

I think RR can be a good Hal Jordan. As long as they don't make him TOO smart ass, it'll be okay. The Blake Lively casting is something that kind of suprsied me, and I know she's on Gossip Girl ( ), but I am willing to give her a chance.

They seem to want to stick close to GL's origins, and I like the fact that we'll see Sinestro and Kilawog (although I really have no idea how that'll happen without him looking goofy).

I love GL and hope they do justice to the character.

Yeah, the Kilowog thing has me worried as well. It sounds like they're going with the origin story though and that sounds awesome. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.
