Official Green Lantern Movie Thread

I have really high hopes for this movie. I am a DC fan, and I can't believe we've finally getting a GL movie!

Agreed. This had better be awesome.

I find this a bit confusing as the appearance of the suit doesn't change much in the comic. I'll withhold judgement though, especially since a lot of this movie will probably be CGI and he may be in the motion capture suit for more reasons than just the GL suit. Time will tell and I'm not going to freak out yet.

First look at the new logo for the film? Hmmmmm. This is being used on the set in on signs. Could just be a production thing, or the movie logo.

i am/was hoping for the later...a tights kinda outfit with a CGI'd glow around him when needed...

over CGI'd movies (Avatar, Clash of the titans) really put me off...i'm hoping they they don't over do it for GL, but with the GL world (lots of space and aliens) i can't see it NOT being over done...i guess i have to hope they do it well, like in the TF movies...

Sorry just realized the Driftwood chant was back in April.

I have a good and bad feeling about it. I think it shall be a good movie but I think it won't be a true Green Lantern movie. I mean look at the Iron 1 and 2 franchise. Those weren't classic it was a mixture of ultimate and regular lines producing a good movie. On the other side.... is ROC and Sherlock Holmes. These movies are both good if you don't count them as what they claim to be. Roc was not GI Joe and Sherlock Holmes was not a movie base on that detective. I'm still super excited about the movie but I'm going to be negative nancy that way if it is like Sherlock Holmes i'll be happy with it and if it is truly a Green Lantern movie...I may wet myself in the movie theater in excitement.....and here's hoping for a Mattel DCUC like style toyline. I'm annoyed at the including of Waller she should be in Batman 3 not Green Lantern. For suits I would want all three. Unless they are showing just Hal Jordan which they aren't the Green Lantern Costumes are different depending on what creature is wearing them. Guy, Salak, Arisia, Ch'p(my favorite) Stel all have different costumes. I'm okay with it being in 3d all of the movies so far have had a regular movie and 3d movie. I look forward to seeing it in 3-d but most likely buying it in 2-d format. I do like the signs and I can't wait to see the posters they come out with.

FINALLY, thanks to EW, we get out first look at Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern!

If we get it I will watch it but who decided Ryan Reynolds is a great actor for comicbook films? Blade Trinity was bad and his Deadpool was just wrong in Wolverine Origins.

Not sure how I feel. I like the mask. I like that they kept the white eyes. Ring looks good. Symbol looks good. I just don't know about the illuminated seams. I also wish he had longer hair. Not that its a huge deal but I wish he had the parted hair look Hal's always had. This whole costume and hairdo looks very Kyle Rayner/Ion to me. I'll hold off total judgement until I see a full body shot.

Actually IMO Reynolds and Biel were the only good parts in Trinity and the fact that Deadpool sucked in Wolverine was the fault of the writers who screwed him up majorly not the actor. He even said when they were talking about the Deadpool movie that he would be done right in that version as oppossed to the debacle in the film.

Well at least we know why the whole suit is CGI. I would've preferred a more classic GL black and green look, but I guess that's just me. Other than that, the suit looks awesome.

I was a fan of the Nightstalkers as written by Marvel I didn't like Reynolds depiction and what they did with Frank Drake and Hannibal King in Trinity.

Hot chic, aliens, cool tech. I can did it. Though the green muscle fiber look is a bit odd. And I like Ryan Reynolds. He does well with what he is given.
