Joss Whedon to Direct the Avengers!

He's in final negotiations, but all signs point to this being his job.

I'm both happy and worried about this.

I'm just glad to see things proceeding because I can't wait to see this movie.

i'm just glad to see this moving along...gives me hopes that maybe the rest of the Avengers lone movies will also see the light of day...

While the Hulk will in fact be part of this movie, Edward Norton will not return. I think that sucks, myself. He did an excellent job as Banner.

This has promise and foreboding as well.

Agreed Norton was excellent!!! I guess you could do the Hulk without him!!! I`m curious if we`ll get some WonderMan cameo action??

There hae been rumors of Ant Man and Possibly Hawkeye also being part of the team. That's a pretty big group.

Right on. I can't wait to see this. I just hope they do right with it. But Marvel's track record so far isn't too bad, so I have hope.

I think of Joss Whedon as more of a writer/creator than I do a director. He's never blown my skirt up either way but just sayin'

Honestly, I'd rather Jon Favreu get a shot at this. I know Joss is the nerds buddy (myself included), I am just not sure about his style fitting an Avengers film.

Word is Marvel wants the Hulk recast qickly, so they can have the main cast appear at SDCC in a few weeks. There is a rumor circulating that they may be offering the role to Joaquin Phoenix, but nothing has been confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt.

Seeing as this is based on the Ultimates they really need Hawkeye in there but please not ryan reynolds stuffing up another character I think two was enough (Blade Trinity and Wolverine Origins).

Well, now it looks like the front runner is Mark Ruffalo, who might not be too bad of a choice. We'll know pretty soon, they really want to get this deal done.

The Official, confirmed cast of Joss Whedon's Avengers has now been confirmed. Gotta say, I like this cast and the way Marvel is doing this.
