Black Friday - What did you buy?

In my Forty years on this earth I have never experienced such an amazingly bizarre shopping experience. I have wondered for a long time what the big deal was. So, this morning (since I'm always up anyway) I deciced to check it out in hopes there might be some fresh plastic. WOW! Not the time to go hunting.

The details:

My Target opened at 4 am. There were some special deals for the first 40, 100, ect in line (half price off brand TVs and such). People began lining up at about 11 pm yesterday.

Extra Bonus! If it drops below 60 degrees here we consider it cold. Our temps went from a high in the mid 80's yesterday to this morning's temps in the mid 30's which is freezing frickin cold here.

Now about the line. I show up 30 minutes before opening and realize I parked way to close to the door. There is a fricken line about 300 yards long (three to six people wide in most spots). Keep in mind my town is small (100,000 population) and this is the only Tar-no-get.

Amazingly at 4 am when the doors open, it only took me about 15 minutes to get inside. Getting in was the easy part. Checking out was a 45 minute endeavor and that is only because I cut in line (I know.... I'm one those people... stone me already).

What was my big score? Blah. I got a MU Avengers Comic Pack (which actually hasn't been on the pegs here): Sentry and Spidey. Not very impressed. Sentry has a chick head sculpt, and I need another Spidey fig as much as I need empty brown glass bottles.

The upside is I picked up a Garmin at half price. My wife really wants one. Christmas shopping done! Hahahahaha!

Leason learned. No more Black Friday shopping for me. I would rather pay double than submit to that craziness.

I dont go...Working at TRU for 6 years ,I had to deal with this every year.I refuse to deal with this madness.

I got a Black Friday deal on some pajamas for my wife...online. Flurk the mall today.

I worked today. AT Toys R us. So no less than five of the G I Joe Pits go out the door. Listened to the complaints of the fact we don't have enough of the buy one get two GI Joes. Sold only two Transformers. I have seen so many numerous forms of Chuck the Truck that I lost count when the 20th one. Than I had people who didn't read the ad which stipulated that some items went on sale only at 5 in the morning. The line we had went through the cashier tape, up the side of the aisle and around to bikes. Though you would think that's a long wait on average a person spent only 20 minutes in line before they were exiting the door. I'm sick of shopping after working but I heard there was a Black Canary are Target so I went to look and no dice than I went home and slept and I just woke up.

market predicted CEOs to get zillions of dollars richer today. i like to think of my lack of contribution as a sprinkle of piss in their cornflakes. screw U NOV 26 national buy nothing day.

I bought a couple autographed football cards on ebay.

I bought a half-gallon of Turkey Hill blueberry oolong tea.

Went to Wal Mart at Midnight and saw hoards of people waiting by pallets for midnight. My wife got the kids what they needed and I scored:

True Blood Season 1 for 12.00
Sons of Anarchy Season 1 for 12.00
Batman: Under the Red Hood for 2.00
Price Matched Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit for 35.00

and proceeded to wait in line for 1.5 HOURS to get the hell out!!!

WENT BACK INTO TOWN AT 6:00 AM.............
Scored Big Bang Theory Season 3 for 13.00 at Target along with a Batman shirt.
Scored some DVD recording dvds at Office Max for 13.00 for 100 count.
Scored Smallville Season 9 for 10.00 at Best Buy.
Scored some more things for the kids at TRU and HEB Grocery Store and also Wal Mart.. again.

Currently thinking about going right back into the fray today!!!

Went to Ikea, bought meatballs.

I don't go out this wekend if I don't have to. The morons who seem to be everywhere grate on my nerves. I will do my shopping online, or wait till next week to brave the crowds. I've never waited 10 hours outside on Black Friday, and I don't ever plan to. I know a few peeps that got some good deals, but I had to work anyway.

Yup, went for my first time on Thursday as well. Came away from a two hour wait to cash out from TRU with the Joe mech, some 3 for 1 POC figs, a box of Diaper Genie rings and 2 boxes of bottle sanitizing bags!

I won't be doing that again unless the deal is really good, and then I'll scout ahead beforehand to make sure it's worthwhile.

Hey Strider, I walked into TRU like at 9 am Friday morning to get some of those cheap diapers that were on sale and the diaper section looked like the Day After!! They didn't have a damn thing I needed. And then I rolled in there today to get some 2 for 10.00 Joes and all they had was Destro and Snake Eyes. GAH!!

Man I thought it would be faster to cash out at the Babies R Us section. That place was spotless compared to the TRU side, I know because the line wove through every part of the furniture section and all around the aisles! The only place it didn't cut through was the clothing section. At least the Diaper Genie rings were on sale!

Ugh. Diapers..diaper genies. You guys had to remind about the BAD part that I'm having another baby in a few months..

It's all fun and games until you have a blowout!
