Pretty much all of your domes are inflatable because it costs less to build them that way. Both the Silverdome and Ford Field are built with inflatable roofs as well...

I remember when I was in high school our football team used to play their last game of the year in the Silverdome every year. Being in band, I would come out of the tunnel and onto the field every year and the wind (the had to continuously blow in air to keep the roof up) was horrendous. That's just the way it's done.
