Folks this was a very good film. The visual effects are incredible. The story centers around a Marine veteran who is paralyzed from the waist down. His tein brother, a scientist, is killed in a rndom act of violence, and he is asked to step int othe role his brother was performing. Sully's brother was part of a science team on the planet Pandorum, part of the project to work with the native species. This is done by mindlinking with a genetically engineered Avatar, a clone of the native people. Humans are working to mine valuable metals from the planet's soil and the natives are in the way. The plot is basic, it's a morality play, a lesson about the true value of nature. But the movie is very good. IT's long , 3 hours with the previews, but you will forget how long you are in the theater. The CGI is just incredible, mind blowing. The Avatars and natives look like the actors portraying them, and they move and express emotion as if they are real people. The CGI is some of the most realistic I have seen. I think everyone should see this film, just to see how amazing it visually is. I highy recommend this.

I think I'll probably see this as well, but maybe not until it comes to DVD

I'm not a big fan of 3D, it is playing in 2D as well? I too, may end up waiting for DVD, unless I can talk the wife into it, lol.

If you are going to see the movie see it in Imax 3D. It is not like any 3D film you have ever seen. It is as far beyond the ol red and green as an xbox 360 is beyone a comador 64.

I skipped the 3D. Saw it in 2D and was amazed.

I agree with Wry, it's worth seeing in the theatre. And I definitely enjoyed the flick, but I'd be careful with the hype. It's definitely a solid movie, but a lot of the hype comes from the fact that they spent a quarter of a billion dollars on their media blitz.

Thanks. It was fun to make. I think there's a serious point in there to. The movie did seem to have a lot of paradox. Didn't it?
