Night of the Living Dead (Orignal '68 version)

This is one of my favorites. Classic Romero, and in old school black and white. I watched it with my wife tonight (she'd never seen it), and it makes me smile every time. Although by todays standards not very gory, back in '68, it was shocking for a few different things:

1) A black lead character
2) A black man actually punching a white woman
3) Showing the zombies actually chomping on flesh
4) The little girl eating her father in the cellar
5) The ending


Anyone who loves horror should see this movie. Even as cheesy as a few parts of it are, it is a great horror movie.

Well, we watched it on AMC, so it was blurred out, but yeah, that was a pretty big deal.

Just watched it on AMC last night. You know it is still a great film. The newer zombie flicks might have better effects/more gore what have you, but I think certain things about this movie are far superior. It came at a time when horror movies had to rely on quality acting, as opposed to today's blood guts and boobs. It just might be the last of the great horror films of hollywood's silver age.

Seriously, the acting in it is so much better than a lot of the crap we get now. It's kind of sad when you think about it.

Oh god the acting in some of the movies today is so terrible.

Ther was no acting at all! They just said a few really poorly written lines at the camera.
