Okay I love it. Is it perfect? No. But being a bit of a fanboy of Transformers, it rocks.

That being said, here is my opinions and rantings about it. The campaigns of autobot and decepticon are somewhat short, but man it is worth it for the stories if you like TF's lore. Seeing things like how Megs meets Starscream and Jetfire was really well done. There are a ton of nice nods to the whole of the TF's universe in this. As far as playing the campaign, it can at times seem tedious and repetetive as it sends tons of robots to fight you and shoot you. Also, just as I suspected the environment as a whole tends to all look the same after a while, but I wasn't bothered by this since it is a tech looking planet. Anyways, controls are pretty tight, though they take a little getting used to with the way the vehicle modes drive. I found at times aiming was a little sloppy as well. With each chapter of the campaign you get to select your character from a choice of three. While fun for replay, there is no change as to how the story plays out. You can also play co-op online through any of the campaign with up to two of your buddies.

Multiplayer is a ton of fun with a lot of different games to play. So far I feel that the maps are acutally too big at times, and it can be frustrating to hunt for your opponents. Team work is a real factor to the multiplayer element too. Selecting your character is a lot like Call of Duty, where you have certain builds for certain classes of robot and you can select from four types of class. Scouts are fast and weak, soldiers are tough and slow, leaders have lots of buffs and are balanced, and scientists are your flyers. By gaining experience, you can open up new perks for your robots, and make each character your own and your stats are all tracked and stored. You can also color your bots, and select from skins for your characters.

There is also a co op multiplayer element called "escalation" where you and others team up to fight wave after wave of incoming computer controlled bots. This element actually is what I consider the most fun because you are more limited in ammo, and health. You earn points for every bot you kill and use them to buy equipment in-between waves. This has been an endless amount of fun as far as I'm concerned, and a great feature of the game.

My biggest gripe with the online play is that you can randomly get disconnected from the servers at times. Also, I get pissy about the hosts who quit in in the middle or near the end of the match just because they are losing.

I have found this to be a very worthy title, and with all the features and gameplay, it was worth full price. If you do get it you have to check out the end credits, the homage to the 80's is just friggin great!

Great review Stronox. I am currently in Iacon trying to get to Zeta Prime it is hard at times but fun I would prefer better combat skills like being able to tear your enemy's head off as Megatron has been known to do. It's a fun game with no regrets in buying it so far.

yeah man my boy loves it! There is quite a noticible difference in the difficulty settings, easy is great for the kids and I find medium somewhat challenging.

Lol! I am playing on easy and still found some parts difficult. It took me until 1.00 am to take down Omega but I finally did it the trick is don't stay in one place for too long and corrupt his fuel cells with dark energon asap.
