Death Race

Finally got around to watching Paul W.S. Anderson's re-imagining of Death Race 2000 and I have to say that I rather enjoyed it! I've historically loathed 90% of what P.W.S. Anderson has done in the past but that has mainly been due to his penchant for style over any and all substance. He's always been an extremely capable action director and I think Death Race is his finest work to date. The action scenes were terrific and and the overall mood of the film works perfectly. Ian McShane was great as always and Jason Statham does what he does best - flex alot and growl out tough guy lines. Tyrese Gibson also does a fair job as one of the main villains and Natalie Martinez is unbelievably hot as the obligatory arm candy. I also had a holy shit moment when I realized that "Chip" from the sitcom Kate and Allie plays "Lists", one of the prison mechanics, and is all growed up now!

It's a great popcorn action flick and I give it a rock solid 8 out of 10

I have this, still in the plastic. I'm gonan have to open it up and check it out now, lol.

It was an okay movie. I enjoyed it.

Cheesy fun, sometimes thats all you need. This flick comes through if thats your goal.

i totally enjoyed this movie.great action scenes and decent plot.love how they had david carradine voice frankenstein in this one as a tribute to his character from death race 2000.

I watched it in theaters and I really liked it. That's because I never watched the original and I thought this was good. I love the line at the end of the movie: "Nobody F**ks with my car!!!" I have it on dvd if I need something to watch one day.. but since I have streaming video from Netflix.. I can catch it there.

A check your brain at the door flick. Fun but not as fun as the original.

Surely not, sir. There was such subtly and nuance to the dialog, like when the villainess says, "All right Stinkelface sucker. Flurk with me and we'll see who shits on the sidewalk." First of all, will someone verify for everyone who hasn't seen the movie that that is in fact a line? Next, think about this lines brilliance for a moment. I mean, it's sort of like an extended metaphor, and with onomatopoetic undertones. And I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure it's a palindrome.
