True Friends!!!

I recently started feeling ill due to people claiming to be friends with this person or that person.Well im no saint,and everybody knows that ive did or said thinks that make me look like a heartless f'r.No matter if we are talking about sports or if we are talking about personal problems.But when its crunch time and it comes down to it,you know what? Im there for every single friend i have. No matter what the problem may be.I do what i can,how ever i can.If you concider yourself a true friend to someone,then step up and do your job as a friend.If a friend crys to for help,by God do what you can for them.Otherwise it will be to late.Then you will be spending the rest of your life beating the crap out of yourself for FAILING to be the friend you claimed to be.No matter what excusses you give.Its plain and simple.YOU FAILED AS THE FRIEND YOU CLAIMED TO BE. So no matter if its something that consist of a materealistic thing or if its a life,or innocent life for that matter at risk.Al least try.Then you can have peice.But if not.Then live with it!

Im sorry this thread is bassed on facts in the world today.It just got me thinking.How good of a friend is somebody? Can you really count on those that claim to be your friends.Can your friends really truely count on you?Well I can say yes.Can you?

Rader if you need something bro just pm me. I think there are a lot of people on here that you can consider a friend.I know I can.

I think the term "friend" is often miss used in society. If I call someone a friend, I certainly mean it. Ask anyone who's ever dealt with me. Others are just people I may know and like. Being friends is a two way street, and is often not easy. I try to be there for anyone that needs me, if I know you well, or not.

I take friendship very seriously. Always have. I am blessed to have a fair amount of friends (many on this board, to be sure), true friends. Everyone that knows me knows that you only have to ask, and if I can help, I will.

Now, that being said, a lot of times people you consider friends do not feel the same (which I certainly also experienced). This is also fine. In the age of the internet, one can never really be sure who is who, which makes creating friendships somewhat difficult.

I treasure every friend that I have.

I'm one of those people that bleeds friend to the end.
If there is one thing I pride myself on and can say that I excel at it is being a great friend to my friends.

Too often people use the mantel of friendship as a way to get what they want from someone without any reciprocation ever.
When it comes down to it if we are just casual or acquaintance friends thats fine, but don't treat me like we are best friends only when you need something.

I've gone through my fair share of friends over the years, losing some and leaving others
due to differing reasons.. some which I never really understood or still don't know about.

I'm happy to say that in my 28 years (almost) of life I have had one friend who has consistently been there for me for 27 of those years. Being as rich in friendships as I consider myself to be I am honored to hold all the friendships I do!

It sometimes seems friendships are harder to maintain that gain.

I have always felt if a friendship is hard to maintain, it probably isn't really there.

I also feel friends consier how the things they do, the choices they make, how these will effect the friends they have.

Sometimes the hardest things we do as friends is tell our friends that they are wrong. Standing by and watching a friend do something that will hurt them or others is not the true spirit of friendship.

This is a great thread. Why? To clear the air, thats why....Ok let me start off by saying, there are many different kinds of friends.

There are the ones you see now and again, but make no real impact on your life.

There are the ones you talk to everyday, even if its net based, and you stay in very good contact with.

Then there are the friends that drop everything for you, extend the hand of kindness when needed, and off the foot in the ass also when needed.

You also have friends that are others friends and you just all happen to be in the same place, calling all of yourselves friends.

But in all honest, a friend is a friend, no matter how bad you Flurk up, no matter how low you get, no matter what they are still friends. its that kind of friendship that is hard to find.

When you do, you make sure you hold onto it.

I consider my self lucky to have allot of friends, but i also consider my self to have allot of friends that I look at as family, its more then a friendship they are family to me.

This board has brought allot of people together, and thats what really stands out on here, your not just posting, your family here.

Friends that become more family than anything else is a true gift.

This board is a small family community, we arent just strangers commenting and posting on peoples thoughts but family partaking in peoples experiences, daily trials and tribulations, joys, downfalls.. no matter how you slice it it's everyone here that makes this place as great as it is!

Here's the thing I've learned about friends. You don't always see eye to eye, and sometimes you don't get along. But in the end, it gets resolved, and you're good. That, to me, is important.

Blay, you and Dave said it. S12 is a family. If we have 200 or 2000 members, it'll always be that way. We may not always agree (and that is fine), but at the end of the day, friends are friends.

I consider myself very lucky to have met some of the people I now call "friend".

Part of being a friend is understanding that no one is perfect, and we all screw up at some point. I consider telling someone they are a friend to me pretty important, at least to me.

A friend is someone who you can trust. A friend is someone who has your back. A friend is also someone who can trust me, because friendship works both ways. I don't see eye to eye with a lot of my friends on a lot of things, especially *gasp* politics. I won't go into whys or wherefores here, but trust me on this one. THAT DOESN'T MATTER! If we're friends, we'll disagree get over it and get on with life.

I am sure Drift would LHAO at me before helping me... but hey, that's what we do! I have a lot of friends both on this forum, and on HT, and outside of the net. I can honestly say I have 4 extremely true friends that are always there when I need them. Heck.. we all grew up together and went through a ton of crap so we aren't going anywhere. But this place is full of great people that I am certianly proud to call friends and acquiantances!!! I do need to send thanks to people from HT that have become my friend and migrated over here. If it wasn't for that place... I wouldn't have any Net Friends but now I have a phone list full of people. At least hanging out in here.. you can't get hit for saying something stupid!!!! LOL!!!

Thanks guys.But no i dont need anything. It just makes me sick hearing people say that this person or that person was their friend but when it came down to it.They wasnt there when they was needed and could have been there. They just blew them off and didnt call them back or didnt take them seriously and now.ITS TO LATE!!!!Its very sad.

I call everyone in this thread a friend even though some of you I know much better than others. My joining S12 was quite literally a return to a few friendships that I had let slip a little bit due to stupid misunderstandings. I'm lucky enough to have friends that live near me that I've known since I was a kid. I consider them brothers and sisters more than friends.

I dont get a chance to get on here as much as some of you,but the people I have had talks with,*I would do anything for them.






*That being said,There is only a few people who are on here that I would actually be able to help(or whatver the situation may be).I mean if Bats need something I would be able to drive to West Tx if he needed anything.Now if (lets say)Rob needed something it would be harder for me to do anything.Yes if it was money or something I could send it .But if its physical help he needs,I wouldnt be able to do much.

So I guess im just trying to agree with what some of you have said about internet friends.

And to the people who i have had conversations or interactions with....I would do anything in my power to help you out if something were needed.You know who you are.

Oh and I dont talk to him much anymore.....but Mr Swafus I will always consider a friend.He is the VERY FIRST person to reach out to me when I joined His......err this other website. I will always remember that because if it wasnt for him and Rob...I never would have met any of you.

JJ.. you will always be known to me as Dusty Carlisle... the cleanup crew for COBRA! Those were some of the best times in the Tank and I miss them dearly... but we are here now and it's gonna continue to be PARTY TIME!!!

You know I gotta agree with JJ Carlisle on the whole Swafus thing. He was one of the first guys to really befriend me on HT, him and Rob and it really took me to a cool place--here! So I gotta thank him for that. And I real glad he joined up here and I have gotten to renew our friendship. Swaf is a good guy. Everyone on here is a good guy (or gal)!

Ahh J.J. and Blue. I remember when you guys first showed up and we were looking for a few good men to play for Cobra. I had no idea then that we'd be in a thread on another site more than a year later calling each other friends. Funny how life works. J.J., you should quit being a stranger though for real ;-)

xhairs and I have been on HT for almost 3 years and never really spoke until recently and truth be told we should have been pals from the get-go.

and I have to say I couldn't be more proud of Rob for what he has built here. I used to consider the internet a high tech encyclopedia that I could also magically use to find free porn. But all of you folks have helped change my definition of it. Well not completely changed, but still. :-()

My friends are like my family....anything i can do, i will do.

I've made one friend. I don't hang out with him much due to the fact he enjoys drinking to the point of being drunk and I'm not much of a drinker. He always compares me to Charles Mason wanting to be in control. However he knows if he needs help with anything he just needs to call me. A few weeks ago after two months of not speaking we hung out and the next day I helped him clean out his entire Bathroom due to that bad black mold crap. I know that unless he has work I can count on him to come and help me no matter what the hell I'm asking him to do.

Damn glad to see that there are no fakers/flakers!!!
