Official Captain America Movie Thread!

Expect an official announcement soon, but looks like the deal is done.

It's been offered, and he has apparently accepted it. 9 picture deal, with Cap movies, Avengers, and appearances in other Marvel films.

Official word should come very soon.

Ok, so even having seen him I have no clue who he is. Anyway, it should be a good movie. Marvel knows how to do it right.

I know a lot of fanboys will bitch, but i am willing to give him a chance. Could have been a LOT worse.

I have no problem with him as the Cap.
but what i do have a prob with is he was the Human Torch... i just think its weird that he'll be someone else now in the Marvel Movie-verse... but what ever.. they are rebooting that train wreck of a franchise as well so I guess it wont matter

After two (not counting Corben) F4 & 2 Hulk movies, I decided that there's just no way to pull off bulky humans like Thing & Hulk in live action. The second Hulk was a better shot, but he's just going to come off as kinda cartoony no matter what.

Capn america is Duke with toughness, so i dont like either of them. how many crappin america movies are they going to make and how long do i have to wait for the avengers movie just so Micheal Bay can ruin it for me. On the other hand Hugo Weaving is awesome. Even in drag driving accross Australia. How hes gonna work out as an uber nazi we'll just have to see.

hes was Agent Smith in matrix, Elrond in lord of the rings and V in V for vendetta

Marvel is flopping, right now there only real success is ironman. i cant figure out what the hell im reading most of the time. Xmen is in one dimension. X-force in another. then theres marvel Zombies, and wolverine is in all of them. people die, i dont care. i'll read about them in the other dimension.

All in all, id be really surprised if the avenger movie actually happens, it took GI Joe 25 years for a director that bad to wipe his butt with the fans loyalty. Plus im pretty sure i heard talk about an avengers movie in 1994

Ok..Agent Smith as the Red Skull. I am officially impressed. Now they just need to get this thing to market so that I can watch it.

this could be good

as long as they don't use a rubber suit for cap or some cheesey-ass make-up for the skull that makes is head look like a blow pop then maybe this movie might not suck.

This movie has potential. Anyone who hasn't seen Sunshine should give it a try. Cillian Murphy is my favorite actor and Evans just blew him out of the water in that film.

Of the guys that were in the running Evans was the best choice. Not in my top 5, but I think he can pull it off. Sunshine was very good and he was also good in Street Kings.

Until I really see something, I am gonna reserve judgement. I still think Evans can be at least a passable Cap, if not a good one. It's really gonna depend on the writing and directing too. He's an actor, so i like to believe he'll be able to portray the role well. We'll see. But i do think he was one of the better choices of the list they had.

First look at the concept look for Cap! I have to admit, I think i dig this!

i like it b/c its a mix of the modern mask and the og helmet without the wings. This is cool!

ha! that movie was rediculous, like to won foo but in the ozzie desert

someone give cap a redbull because he needs wings.hope the actual suit looks just as great as the concept artwork.

Neil McDonough has joined the cast!


He'll be playing the role of Dum Dum Dugan!

And it looks like the Howling Commandos may be involved, although they may be getting a name change.


Additionally, Stanley Tucci has been cast for the role of Dr. Abraham Erskine, the German scientist behind Project: Rebirth.



I have to say, this cast is certainly shaping up to be amazing.
