true enough man.

CG is good when it is quality work and when it is needed and doesnt detract from the environment around the characters or the film itself.
It truly is an art form as well b/c look at where it started to where it is now. The quality of 2009/2010 work is vastly superior to work from 2005/2006 and even more recent.

Take the Chronicles of Narnia.
Azlan had to be CG'd. There was no way around it. Putting a real lion in would be dumb b/c it can't talk and then just animating the mouth would look ridiculous. The CG work they did on him was amazing and it fit right in with the characters and the environment.

Now look at the CG work done on the first Hulk movie with Eric Bana.
That was atrocious! The Hulk looked horrible and didnt fit in with the environment at all. It was glaringly obvious that it was CG work and seeing him next to a human actor just made it that much more noticeable.

CG is good in moderation and when it is absolutely necessary.
It cant be relied on as a crutch though. It just cant.

That's exactly what Im saying. That's kinda the assumption I was making when I started this, was that it would be a "Good quality remake". Not "What's the next 80's movie you'd like to see modern movie makers destroy?"..lol

And it's not all about CG Vs. Real thing either. "Talent" has come a long way since then as well, and there is a whole new world of quality writers, directors, and actors out there. And no Im not talking about Haden Christianson (Or however you spell it) either.
